New homes are built so fast and tight, they are saturated with moisture. Up to 2230 gallons of moisture will be released slowly over the next 1.5 to 2 years, making it extremely important to understand the effects this may have on your hardwood flooring.
Renovating your home is a big investment, and we want to make sure you have the right advice to make your hardwood flooring last a lifetime. Start your journey and find the nicest product for your space.
STEP 2: Select your situation
The Northeast Region has the largest swings in temperature and humidity, going from long cold heating
seasons to humid tropical like summers. It is unrealistic to think all hardwood floors will perform
throughout these changes. Acclimation periods vary from season to season. If your wood is acclimated
to the dry heating season it is more likely to cup in the humid months. Being acclimated to the humid
summer season you can expect large spaces between boards in the dry heating season. We strongly
recommend viewing “Your Project” in its entirety and contact us with any questions.
